I spent Saturday photographing the amazing wedding of Jenny & John Blackley, who were married at St Hilda’s Church in Tottington, and later, held their wedding reception at the superb Mitton Hall in Whalley near Clitheroe, Lancashire.
Jenny got ready at home in Tottington and looked amazing in her Justin Alexander wedding dress! John looked equally smart in his French Connection suit and Roland Cartier shoes, together they looked superb!
I arrived early at Jenny's house before she was back from having her hair done at the salon up the road, I photographed some of the make-up and bridesmaids while Jenny's step-dad kept everyone awake with strong coffees!
I spent my time between the guys getting ready just up the road, and with the girls. Working on my own, I always try to capture both sides of the story: the guys getting ready (and usually having a beer or two) and the girls getting ready (and usually having a prossecco or two..or three), but being only a few miles apart made my life a lot easier!
The wedding ceremony was very personal to Jenny, as her primary school class choir sang the hymns during the service; and watched puroudly from above as Jenny walked down the aisle, soon to no longer be Miss Wisedale, now becoming Mrs Blackley!
Later, back at Mitton Hall, guitarist Alex Hulme guitarist played for hours while everyone enjoyed their drinks and canapees, and the sun even came out for us, allowing everyone to enjoy the warmth outside Mitton Hall.
The best men speeches were utterly hilarious, bringing John and Jenny to tears with laughter and telling some stories about their early relationship, their first encounter with each other and some embarrassing stories about John - I think the pictures say it all!
